Damariscotta Lake (Where the Blackflies Roam)

  So, this is the first wall we built with Clark on the lake, and the next will essentially be a mirror on the other side of the drive.  And yes, the blackflies were horrendous, and yes, they did carry Damon away. We spend so much time working on the ocean, where the breeze tends to keep them away, that we forget how bad they can be inland.

The Top of the Heap

  This top stone will come down and become the starting point for the rest of the stack, as we take what we have thus far constructed down to Boothbay and install it. A simple red level-line drawn across the face will let us know where to properly position it on the ground.

A Maine Landmark

A good portion of my day consists of driving lately--about three hours--and much of that out into the frozen hinterlands of the state, locally referred to as "the willy-wags"; so it just seems right to include some photos.
Hussey's is in Winsor and is often used as a point of reference, when someone is giving directions. For instance, "You know where Hussey's is right? Well, it's 'bout twenty miles southwest of there."
It's a great place and you're guaranteed to find yourself wandering around it's three sprawling floors if you stop in for a look. They also have metal detectors.
